To get the Stellify Award you'll need to complete at least two Ethical Grand Challenge activities.

These interactive online activities will give you the tools to help tackle three of the biggest challenges facing the world in the 21st century - Sustainability, Social Justice and Workplace Ethics.

‌‌Feel empowered to take action on sustainability issues that matter most to you. 

Working online through interactive games and activities, you’ll get to develop plans for a new University campus which will give you the tools to think critically about sustainability in a real-world context. 

What do I need to do?

Year 1 or Year 2 students have been automatically enrolled on Blackboard and can find the challenge in the 'My Communities' section. Final year students can self-enrol via the Sustainability Challenge webpage.

How do I show I've done it?

Your participation will be verified by completion of a series of tasks in Blackboard.

‌Explore how you can support human rights and work to build fairer communities in Manchester, the UK and across the globe.

Learn how to think critically about social justice and explore themes like race, migration, homelessness, mental health, higher education and energy.

The Social Justice Challenge is currently available to Year 2 and final year students.

What do I need to do?

How do I show I've completed it?

  • Your participation will be verified by completion of a series of multiple choice questions in Blackboard 

Get ready for the workplace by exploring ethical dilemmas commonly faced by graduates in their early careers. 

The Workplace Ethics Challenge is available to final year students.

What do I need to do?

  • Attend a Workplace Ethics Challenge face-to-face workshop or complete the challenge online 

How do I show I've completed it?

  • If you attend a face-to-face workshop you need to sign the register on the day to prove that you attended
  • If you complete the online challenge in Blackboard, your participation will be verified by a short multiple choice quiz
